- Briefly leaving the Guard to go off exploring on his own before returning for reasons he refuses to explain fully to everyone but Stella

- Reading up on the history of the kingdom

- Exploring the kingdom and/or studying maps of it

- He's not beyond hanging out with the friends he has and having a drink or two
